The Need to Publish the "Chinese Study Bible"
Recognizing the lack of an authoritative and annotated Bible for Chinese Christian believers, our organization has decided to sponsor and promote the publication of the "Chinese Study Bible." This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Rock House Publishers, and it is a compilation of the renowned contemporary Chinese Bible scholars, seminary deans, pastors, and publishing professionals. Taking nearly ten years to complete, this extensive work spans two thousand pages and includes scripture, annotations, cross-references, pronunciation guides, translations, indexes, references, and modern terminology. Since its publication, it has been widely embraced and utilized by Chinese churches, seminaries, and believers worldwide, leading to multiple reprints within a few years. In 2006, an "expanded edition" was released, featuring additional annotations and a redesigned layout with clearer fonts and dual-colour printing. The Study Bible also includes colourful maps at the end. To date, the "Chinese Study Bible" has exceeded one million copies in circulation. (More pictures)
Sponsored the Publication of the Simplified Chinese character version of the Chinese Study Bible
Due to the widespread acceptance of the "Chinese Study Bible" among Chinese believers in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and overseas, there has been an increasing demand for a Simplified Chinese edition of this Bible in Mainland China. In response to this request, our organization has supported and collaborated with the Rock House Publishers to authorize the printing and distribution of the "Simplified Chinese Edition" through the China Christian Council in 1996. The first edition was subject to a one-yuan royalty fee in Chinese currency (click here for pictures), and a complete set of the "Simplified Chinese Edition" printing films was provided free of charge. Since then, more than ten editions have been printed. (More pictures)
Sponsored the Rock House Desktop Calendar Gospel Program
Since 2004, our organization has been promoting the "Gospel Calendar Project." By placing "Rock House Desktop Calendars" in hotel rooms in Hong Kong and Taiwan, we provide travelers with an opportunity to encounter the gospel and find spiritual comfort during their journeys. In recent years, this project has expanded to include elderly care homes and collaborations with charitable organizations, reaching a wider range of beneficiaries and spreading the message of hope. Launched the “Rock House Communications Scholarship”
Since 2006, our organization has established the "Rock House Communication Scholarship" at the Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, aiming to support theology students who excel academically and aspire to engage in Chinese church writing ministry. Initially, two scholarships were awarded, gradually increasing to three recipients per year from the third- and fourth-year students. Over the past fifteen years, many the scholarship recipients have become pastors or engaged in gospel communication-related work in China. (More pictures)
Co-organized the “Young Cultural Ambassadors for Hans Christian Andersen Children’s Books”
In the Bible, Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me." Following this principle, our organization launched and sponsored two events in 1994 and 1996 called "Read Andersen's Fairy Tales and Become Little Ambassadors of Culture" to encourage children to read books. The activities involved collaboration with publishers from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Denmark, as well as media organizations in both regions, the Danish Ministry of Culture, and airlines. The events included television crews accompanying award-winning children on their visits to Denmark and Hans Christian Andersen's residence, facilitating cultural exchanges. We firmly believe that children can broaden their minds and cultivate a proper life direction through reading quality literature. (More pictures)
Co-organized a “Novel Writing Contest” and “Novel to Theatre Script Adaptation Contest”
To promote and nurture the literary and creative atmosphere of reading, our organization sponsored and promoted the "Novel Writing Competition" and "Novel Adaptation Stage Play Competition" in 2008 and 2010 respectively. These initiatives received enthusiastic responses from readers and aspiring authors. Participants read the renowned Chinese-translated Christian novels "The Prodigal" and "Oceans Apart" and then wrote their own works for the competitions. Apart from participants from Hong Kong and Taiwan, there were also Chinese writers from overseas. The competitions concluded successfully and were followed by a grand award ceremony. (More pictures)
Set up Academic Research Fund in China to assist in the publication of books on Mass Communication
In 1994, our organization assisted in the Chinese Communication Research Program conducted by more than ten universities in Mainland China in collaboration with Xiamen University. A total of eleven scholars participated in the research, with the aim of helping Chinese scholars explore and compile communication theories from Chinese traditional culture using scientific methods. By 2001, the research papers were completed and published in China. The publications included "Communicating in History: Selected Materials on Communication in Traditional Chinese Society," "Persuading the Ruler: Ancient Chinese Communication of Admonition," and "Character Analysis and Information Communication" in the "Huaxia Communication Research Series" (more pictures available).
Sponsored the publication of The Rock House Desktop Calendar in China
In 2004, our organization funded the publication of the simplified Chinese version of the " Rock House Desktop Calendar" by the China Christian Council in mainland China. We provided the printing films for the entire calendar free of charge, enabling the publication and distribution of this versatile calendar for the first time in mainland China. To this day, the calendar has been published domestically for over sixteen years, with different content each year, encompassing general knowledge and messages related to Christian beliefs.
Sponsored the development of Christian Literature in China
During the period from 2010 to 2012, we sponsored the "Literary Creation Award" organized by the Chinese domestic magazine "Tianfeng" (天風) to financially support the award winners. This initiative aimed to encourage emerging writers to explore writing and cultivate talents in Christian literary arts continuously.
Funded the publication of ”Wen Xin“ (文心), a literary and artistic creation journal
From 2015 to 2017, we provided funding for the publication of the local literary creation magazine "Wen Xin" (文心) in Hong Kong, with the hope of encouraging literary creativity and providing a platform for students and young aspiring writers to share their work. Brother Ng Sze Yuen from the Hong Kong Soul-Mate Company Limited (從心會社有限公司) served as the chief editor. (More pictures)
