Joseph Yu
Director

Rock House Publishers is the brainchild of my Dad, Professor Timothy Yu, and my Mom, Helen Yu. With 60+ years of Christian book publishing serving Chinese readers globally, the Rock House was, and is still, my training ground on all spectrums in publishing since my teen years.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I am a third-generation Christian who began church life as a toddler and was baptized in 1969. Studied communication at Hong Kong Baptist University and subsequently obtained my Master’s in Communication from Stanford University in California. Worked as a journalist for the LA Times, an account specialist with a PR and Advertising firm and later became Regional Marketing Communication Manager for a computer company called Digital Equipment Far East (DEC).

I have been living and working in Canada since 1988 and have continued my marketing communication work and subsequently in the field of Landscape Architecture to create sustainable playgrounds and sports parks.

Retired in October 2016 and now working full-time for the family's Christian publishing business, as well as serving churches and a church association in North America regarding their marketing and web communications needs.

I enjoy landscape photography, garden design and reading.

The Lord prepared me through various secular/Christian work opportunities and opened doors for me to serve on the Board of a church in Cupertino (www.LovingGraceChurch.com), my Hong Kong alma mater Ontario’s Association (www.hkbuaao.com ) and another association for the North Americas Evangelical Free Church (www.anacefc.com ). I will continue to serve Him with humility and prayerfully seek His guidance as I begin on the Board of the Rock House Foundation.
